Revalidation and Renewal
TRI / SFI A320 – B737

As for Type Rating, for the renewal and the revalidation the same principles are applied.

Renewal has to be done while the rating is still valid.

Revalidation when the entitlement is expired.

Courses are for TRI or SFI on A320 and/or B737 300-900.

Type Rating Instructor

TRI Renewal

Renewal has to be done while the certificate is still valid and requires at least 2 of the following conditions to be met within 12 months before the expiration date:

  1. Perform a training session of at least three hours within a type rating or type rating renewal;
  2. Having attended a theoretical updating course at an ATO;
  3. Having passed the competency assessment (AOC).

TRI Revalidation

Revalidation has to be done when the certificate is expired.

The Revalidation program requires that in the 12 months prior to expiration date, the applicant has:

  1. Completed at least 30 route sectors, including take-offs and landings, on the applicable aeroplane type, of which up to 15 routes may be completed in an SBB;
  2. Completed a theoretical updating course at an ATO;
  3. Having passed the competency assessment (AOC).

Synthetic Flight Instructor

SFI Renewal

Renewal has to be done while the certificate is still valid and requires at least 2 of the following requirements to be met before expiry:

  1. Having completed at least 50 hours as an instructor or examiner on FSTD, including at least 15 hours within the 12 months prior to expiry of the SFI certificate;
  2. Having attended a theoretical updating course at an ATO;
  3. Having passed the competency assessment (AOC).

SFI Revalidation

Revalidation has to be done when the certificate is expired.

The revalidation program requires that the candidate has:

  1. Completed a theoretical updating course at an ATO;
  2. Passed the assessment of competence (AOC);
  3. Completed an abilitation test on FSTD to release A320 or B737 licenses.

Renewal has to be done while the certificate is still valid and requires at least 2 of the following requirements to be met before expiry:

  1. Having completed at least 50 hours as an instructor or examiner on FSTD, including at least 15 hours within the 12 months prior to expiry of the SFI certificate;
  2. Having attended a theoretical updating course at an ATO;
  3. Having passed the competency assessment (AOC).

Revalidation has to be done when the certificate is expired.

The revalidation program requires that the candidate has:

  1. Completed a theoretical updating course at an ATO;
  2. Passed the assessment of competence (AOC);
  3. Completed an abilitation test on FSTD to release A320 or B737 licenses.
